A Marvelously Vague Outline of Shelby and E's Weekend in Town

Colleen demanded a blog update, so here it is, in all its vague glory...

Huge news: E and Shelby spent the weekend... TOGETHER!! Well, the weekend minus Friday. Still, incredibly magical.

Here are a select few events from Shelby and E's magical weekend together, in no particular order, except for number 1. It definitely comes first...

1) High school Shelby and high school E had the perfect opportunity to feel incredibly satisfied, and high school Shelby and high school E seized the opportunity and it was perfect. Basically, high school E did some backing up for high school Shelby and it resulted in a great deal of redemption.

2) Alabama played Arkansas in basketball. Not only did we get to enjoy an exciting Bama victory, we also got to see Nick Saban (from afar), and watch 4 Memphis boys do lots of crazy flips and things, except for 1, who just did back handsprings... still neat!

3) Shelby and E shared an eggplant pizza. This may not sound like a weekend highlight, but it was delicious... and romantic.

4) E got to meet Shannon's future husband, and no it is not who Colleen thinks/wants it to be.

Again, while we have tried (in vain) to be boring, all we have accomplished is being vague... and semi-boring. In other news, Shelby is currently wearing all plaid. Last blog post we discussed my addiction to Stumbleupon, but that is nothing compared to Shelby's obvious plaid addiction. Again, it does not get more exciting than Tuscaloosa...

E's Addiction is Official

Bad news everybody,

E is officially addicted to Stumbleupon. Besides spending a large amount of time stumbling, she added our blog to the Stumbleupon collection of websites today. I feel that only a true addict would do this. To further confirm my belief, she dyed her hair this weekend, and since we all know that addicts do crazy and drastic things, I think E's action of dying her brown hair dark brown confirms that she is, indeed, an addict.

Unfortunately, I have even worse news. E and I did not spend the weekend together again! This seems to be a trend, but we are working to end to it. I went home for the weekend to help Jay celebrate his birthday/see him since he had been at sea! To make up for our weekend spent apart, we decided to take some pictures to show you all about our exciting week nights (plus most blogs include pictures, so we thought this one should also).

This is me climbing "Bed Mountain." The foot stool really helps.
This is E climbing "Laundry Mountain." These clothes were clean until she stepped on them. Now Laundry Mountain is in the living room so she can disassemble the mountain and fold the clothes.
Here is a view of the lovely hallway we walk down every day! Nothing like some charming beige walls to put you in the mood for school!
Here we are in the living room. This is actually a live action shot. I am creating this post and E is working on a bee and hexagon picture!
We included this picture to show you guys some of the insane drama that happens when you live in the dorm. This note was posted in the laundry room last semester, it can get pretty heated in there (especially when all the dryers are going). Kellie took the note down (part of her RA duties) and put it on our fridge because of how funny it is. You can also see some of the lovely magnet sentences that have been created on our fridge, we are not responsible for most of them.

We would like to leave you all with another Haiku written by Harrison about E's laundry situation.

So much underwear
Laundry, the Devil's sphincter
It will never end.

E's Turn: A Second Attempt at Blogging

I didn't know how to begin this blog entry, so I let Harrison begin it for me... with a haiku.

So here it is:

Alabama is:

closer to home than Europe

Hippopatamus

Recently, the blog has been a lie. While Shelby and I have essentially remained in town (by in town I mainly mean in the state of Alabama), we have not been bored together all week. This obviously poses some difficulty in updating the blog about our time together... since there has been almost no time together. There is however, some excitement today... E has dyed her hair. I'd include a picture, but I feel dumb adding/taking it... so I won't. Again, our lives prove to be way less boring than we intended them to be. And now, to conclude this incredibly stimulating post, another haiku with an anti-Europe sentiment.

You're welcome, Europe

a thank you card would be nice

World War II, no sweat

and another, less anti-Europe haiku:

Cats who play jazz:

The only thing Europe's got

Lookin' at you, France

Weekend Update! (not actually)

The title of this post is actually kind of a lie. E and I did not spend the weekend together, therefore, we cannot update about our weekend together. Instead, I will update about our Monday night! We shared a perfect meal, which, according to an Italian man on the Food Network, "A truly satisfying meal makes you want to go home and make love." This was questionable to E and I, and our meals were not actually perfect, so we did not have to test the theory... I had a peanut butter and jelly, tortilla chips and a granola bar. E had some kind of microwaveable baked potato (sketchy, if you ask me). She just left the dorm to go eat some sweet foods (a plan I approve of whole-heartedly). And now I am eating some of Kellie's Dove chocolates, blogging about it, and doing laundry. In case you couldn't tell, we lead a wildly exciting existence. But, it is Monday and the rest of the week promises to be more exciting! (I will not tell you why it will be more exciting, this way your imagination gets some exercise!)

Until something truly blog-worthy arises, I will stop this miserable attempt at entertaining you and leave you with this quote from a Dove chocolate wrapper, "Remind yourself to relax." (I got that quote twice, so I figured people needed to hear it).

Day One/ E's First Post

Hello from the same place we've always been/will be... the sofa!! An incredibly eventful ending to an incredibly eventful (really, actually) day. The adventures/headaches of the day include (but are not limited to):

1. Extremely messy roommate break-ups (see number 2)

2. News of inappropriate teacher-student relationships/hook-ups (JUICY)

NOTE: Neither Shelby NOR E NOR any other resident of Ridgecrest N424 is currently/has previously been in any sort of inappropriate teacher-student relationship/participated in any sort of inappropriate teacher-student hook-up.

3. Cat-fights. Teenage pregnancy. Eavesdropping. DRAMA.

NOTE: Neither Shelby NOR E NOR any other resident of Ridgecrest N424 is currently knocked up...

4. More Gilmore Girls, BIG SURPRISE.

5. Chocolate Stalemate. Due to increasing amounts of stubbornness, there is still no chocolate in our mouths/bellies. And still nothing to remove the taste of ham roll-up.

6. Shelby also physically attacked E because of "libel"... WHATEVS

Try as we may to be boring, our lives have clearly proved otherwise. Nothing but excitement going down in N424 today (that sentence sounds sarcastic, but that sentence is unbelievably sincere, really).

The Beginning

First, let us introduce ourselves. We are Shelby and E, two University of Alabama students documenting our semester spent in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (where we spend every semester). This blog is the brain child of Shannon O'Sheal (shannonosheal.blogspot.com), a lovely friend spending her spring semester in Spain. Our other friend, Colleen Cusick (colleencusick.blogspot.com) is spending her semester in London. Shannon decided the best way to stay informed of our riveting daily activities would be to create a blog detailing our lives. We may not be abroad, but we are still fun. Just wait and see.
